Internet Safety Program at the Laurens County Library Do you know how to spot a scam on the Internet? Do you know what social network sites your children or grandchildren are using, and how it can affect their future? Don Cantrell of the SC Department of Education will be at the Laurens County Library on Monday, September 20, at 6:30, to give an overview of cyber communities and safety on the Internet. He provides a balanced look at how people are socializing and some of the positive and negative aspects of this growing culture. He will also talk about issues such as electronic identity theft, online advertisements, and cyber bullying. Mr. Cantrell is the Director of Internal Technology at the South Carolina Department of Education. During the past six years, he has traveled the state sharing information regarding Internet Safety and online information literacy through over 180 workshops, seminars, and keynotes. Adults and Teens should join us for this entertaining and informative program at 6:30 on Monday, September 20, in the meeting room of the Laurens County Library, 1017 W. Main St. in Laurens.
