Anne Frank: A History for Today

In partnership with the Anne Frank Center USA and the Anne Frank House, Pelion Middle School will host the 32-piece temporary exhibit “Anne Frank: A History for Today” in March 2015. The exhibit will be paired with an integrated, multi-disciplinary study unit focusing on bullying. The exhibit will be open to the community for tours and for a drop-in evening of learning on March 19, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. SC Humanities supported this project with a Mini Grant in December 2015.

The exhibit “Anne Frank: A History for Today” uses photographs, letters, and excerpts from Anne’s diary to tell the Frank family’s story. The goal of the exhibit is to promote an understanding of how racism, indifference, and apathy can destroy individuals, families, and entire communities.

Tours will be made available to the community from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on March 5, March 6, March 9, March 11, March 12, March 16, March 18, March 23, March 24, and March 25. Additionally, a Community Night will take place on Thursday, March 19 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
