Susanna Brailsford Named New Literary Arts Partnership Coordinator

The South Carolina State Library, the South Carolina Arts Commission, and The Humanities Council SC announced that Susanna Brailsford has been named Literary Arts Partnership Coordinator. Brailsford will work on literary programs for all three statewide organizations through this unique full-time position that is sponsored by a partnership of the three agencies.

Randy Akers, Executive Director of The Humanities Council SC, said, “Susanna’s excellent background experience in research, writing, and public speaking will allow her to build on the fine work of her predecessors in the position.”

Brailsford has a B.A. in English from Washington and Lee University and a M.A. in English from a joint program of The Citadel and the College of Charleston. Her experience in working for The Citadel Archives and History Museum in Charleston and for the Rockbridge County Literacy Program will serve her well in the Literary Arts Partnership position.

Brailsford will begin as Literary Arts Partnership Coordinator in July 2007 after she has completed her obligations to The Citadel Archives and History Museum. She will spend her time assisting with and coordinating such high-profile literary programs as the South Carolina Book Festival.
