The Directors’ Society

We are pleased to announce the formation of The Directors’ Society, which recognizes annual giving by former and current board members of SC Humanities.

The purpose of The Directors’ Society is three-fold: To increase private financial support for SC Humanities; to recognize board leadership in a special way; and to strengthen ties among former board members and SC Humanities. No one is in a better position to advocate for SC Humanities than its board alumni. S.C. (Cal) McMeekin Jr. is honorary chair. McMeekin, a past board chair, has served on the Board of Directors longer than any other individual—nearly 32 years.

“We are grateful for the support of our friends who have served on the Council. Their knowledge and insight in the work of the Council adds a valuable resource to our present Board, as we work to bring excellent humanities programs and projects throughout South Carolina,” said McMeekin.

We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to those who joined the inaugural class of The Directors’ Society. Follow the link to see the full list.
