The Humanities Council SC Awards $60,930 in Major Grants

The awards were selected through a competitive application and review process and are made possible by SC Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Funded projects include a Summer Ethics Academy for rising 6th grade students at CoastalCarolina University in Conway, a genealogy conference and workshop series for African Americans in Charleston, a series of poetry readings in Travelers Rest (Greenville County), and a documentary about Healing Springs in rural Barnwell County. Matching community support for the 12 projects totaled $150,387.
