Upcountry Literary Festival in Union

The University of South Carolina—Union will host its sixth annual Upcountry Literary Festival on March 18-19, 2016. This two day event will showcase literary, academic, and musical talents, within the rural areas of the Upstate region and is designed to encourage increased awareness, appreciation, and participation in the humanities. South Carolina Humanities supported this project with a Fast Track Literary Grant in November 2015.

The Upcountry Literary Festival is centered on the grounds of the University of South Carolina-Union Regional Campus (401 East Main Street, Union, SC 29379). All events are free and open to the public. To see the full list of presenting authors and the schedule, please click here.

“The primary goal of this event” says English Professor and Festival Director Randy Ivey, “is to expose folks to the power and pleasure gained through an appreciation of literature and the arts.”
