Wonders of Writing Symposium

Spartanburg Community College will present the “Wonders of Writing Symposium” on Thursday, September 21, 2017, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., at their Downtown Spartanburg Campus.  The symposium will feature poets Ashley Jones and Ray McManus reading from their works. SC Humanities supported this program with a Fast Track Literary Grant in February 2017.

Ashley Jones is creative writing instructor at Alabama School of Fine Arts, and she’s the author of the Alabama-themed Magic City Gospel poetry collection from Hub City Press. Ray McManus is instructor of creative writing, Irish literature and Southern literature at USC Sumter and author of Punch, a collection of poetry about work from Hub City Press.

A Q&A with the authors will follow the program. The authors will be available to sign books; copies will be for sale, as well as event t-shirts. This event is free and open to the public.
