SC Humanities Receives the Created Equal Film Series

To introduce four documentaries with riveting new footage illustrating the history of civil rights in America, SC Humanities will make the Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle film series available to libraries, museums, churches, and other nonprofit organizations through our Let’s Talk About It: Reading and Discussion program. Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities that uses the power of documentary films to encourage community discussion of America’s civil rights history. NEH has partnered with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History to develop programmatic and support materials for the sites.

The South Carolina Encyclopedia Gains New Life

SC Humanities is pleased to announce that three guides to The South Carolina Encyclopedia have been published by the University of South Carolina Press as ebooks. Edited by Dr. Walter Edgar, The South Carolina Encyclopedia Guide to the Counties of South Carolina, The South Carolina Encyclopedia Guide to the American Revolution in South Carolina, and The South Carolina Encyclopedia Guide to the Governors of South Carolina are now available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other ebooksellers.
