Documentary Film Series continues with Incident at Mars Bluff.

The 2021 Horry County Museum Documentary Film Series continues with Incident at Mars Bluff. This 30 minute film, part of the Carolina Stories Series by SCETV, explores how the world’s most technologically advanced air power came to drop a three-ton nuclear device on a small town in South Carolina. Interviews with the surviving members of the Gregg family will reveal how the incident affected them then and to this day. Additional interviews with surviving crewmembers, Air Force personnel, Mars Bluff residents and Cold War historians will shed light on the incident and provide local, national and international perspectives to the world’s first nuclear blunder.
The film is free to the public and will be shown at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 10th, at the Horry County Museum, located at 805 Main Street in Conway.
The Horry County Museum Documentary Film Matinees will continue throughout 2021. For a full list of films, visit our website at www.horrycountymuseum.org. For more information, call the Horry County Museum at 843-915-5320 or e-mail hcgmuseum@horrycounty.org.
