Museum Matinee: It’s Grits

The 2019 Horry County Museum Documentary Film Series continues with It’s Grits. What began as a short, 10 minute film about grits turned into a 45 minute documentary that launched the filmmaking career of South Carolinian Stan Woodward. Since its release in 1980, It’s Grits has won multiple awards at film festivals, and appeared nationally on PBS. Featuring interviews beginning with the simple question “Do you eat grits?” this film celebrates one of the South’s favorite foods.

The film is free to the public and will be shown at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 17th, at the Horry County Museum, located at 805 Main Street in Conway.

The Horry County Museum Documentary Film Matinees will continue throughout 2019. For a full list of films, visit our website at www.horrycountymuseum.org. For more information, call the Horry County Museum at 843-915-5320 or e-mail hcgmuseum@horrycounty.org.
