Moments Captured

In collaboration with members of the Charleston Arts community, Annex Dance Company presents Moments Captured, a performance of creative responses to Southbound: Photographs of and about the New South. The two-hour event on February 3, 2019 will gather professional and pre-professional artists to share dance, music, and spoken word/poetry performances inspired by the photography. SC Humanities helped support this project with a Mini Grant in December 2018.

The event is free and open to the public. Patrons are encouraged to come at any point to observe the photography and the performance, and engage in dialog and/or discussion with the participating performing artists.

The event will take place from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on February 3 at City Gallery at Riley Waterfront Park (34 Prioleau Street) in downtown Charleston. Participating artistic collaborators include Annex Dance Company, poet and storyteller April Bandy-Taylor, poet and storyteller Ronda Taylor, Dance Moves Youth Company, and others.

More information about the program is available here.
