Culture & Heritage Museums Offer Virtual Summer Programming

With Culture & Heritage Museums’ sites physically closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, summer programs are offered on a digital platform to provide fun learning opportunities for families of all ages. Created by educational teams at Historic Brattonsville, Museum of York County and Main Street Children’s Museum, CHM summer programs are free of charge; registration is required and donations are encouraged.

Historic Brattonsville and Museum of York County summer programs are presented through Zoom Webinars. Main Street Children’s Museum’s Messy Maestros is presented through Facebook Live; the Messy Maestro Art Kit is an online purchase with curbside pickup.

Culture & Heritage Museums’ virtual summer programs are made possible through funding from a Bridge Grant from South Carolina Humanities, www.schumanities.org. Funding for the Bridge Grants has been provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act economic stabilization plan.

Culture & Heritage Museums is a family of museums in York County, S.C., which includes Historic Brattonsville in McConnells, the McCelvey Center in York, and the Museum of York County and Main Street Children’s Museum in Rock Hill.

The mission of SC Humanities is to enrich the cultural and intellectual lives of all South Carolinians. Established in 1973, this 501(c) 3 organization is governed by a volunteer 20-member Board of Directors comprised of community leaders from throughout the state.
