First Teachers: Families and Communities

South East Rural Community Outreach will present a series of public programs about the importance of education, family, and community in January – April 2011. Events for “First Teachers: Families and Communities” will include several lectures, a genealogy workshop, and the 4th Annual Strong Threads community festival in Hopkins, SC. SC Humanities supported this project through a Major Grant in September 2010.

The purpose of “First Teachers: Families and Communities” is to connect history and culture to solutions for a better quality of life for the citizens of Lower Richland County.
