New Scholar Joins Speakers Bureau: Humanities Out Loud

Joseph McGillMcGill, a Program Officer for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, has a long and impressive resume which includes directorships at the African American Historical Museum and Cultural Center of Iowa and at the Penn Center on St. Helena Island. McGill is the founder of Company “I” 54th Massachusetts Reenactment Regiment and participates in Civil War reenactments, parades, living history presentations, and lectures.

Through Speakers Bureau: Humanities Out Loud, McGill will be available to speak on the topics “African Americans in the Civil War” and “54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry.”

One of the longest-running programs of SC Humanities, the Speakers Bureau sends some of South Carolina’s finest scholars throughout the state to share their interests and knowledge of the humanities and to spark discussions about human values, traditions, and customs. These programs are provided free to non-profit groups and public agencies.
