Rensing Library Festival

The Rensing Center in Pickens will present the Rensing Library Festival on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 3:00 – 6:00 –p.m. featuring readings and a tour of the facility, including its 4,000-item research library. SC Humanities supported this program with a Fast Track Literary Grant in August 2016.

The Rensing Center was established to honor the deep curiosity of Evelyn Rensing Kochansky. Its mission is to nourish creative capability and foster individual renewal, community connection, and interdisciplinary interaction among people in artistic, environmental, and entrepreneurial fields.

The Rensing Library Festival will feature South Carolina authors J. Drew Lanham, author of The Home Place: Memoirs of a Colored Man’s Love Affair With Nature, and Paulette Alden, author of several collections of short stories as well as the novel The Answer to Your Question. They will give public readings from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m., and then a tour of the center with light refreshments will take place at 4:30.
