SC Humanities is pleased to announce that we have launched our new Online Grants Portal, managed by Foundant. The new system will help streamline the application and reporting processes for both applicants and the SC Humanities team. Starting with the November 1, 2024 Mini and Planning grant deadline, all Major, Mini, Planning, and Fast Track Literary Grants will be accepted through the Online Grants Portal.
Foundant Technologies specializes in making philanthropy easier and more impactful through innovative software solutions and exceptional client experiences. The centralized cloud management system is easy-to-use and provides a helpful dashboard for applicants to keep track of all historic and open applications with SC Humanities, including clear deadlines for final reports and other required forms.
Organizations that plan to apply for a grant from SC Humanities will need to create an account in the Online Grants Portal.
We highly recommend reviewing registration instructions, frequently asked questions, and other helpful information linked below before you begin working in the system.

Executive Director Randy Akers said, “I am pleased about our new Online Grants Portal. This system brings SC Humanities in line with how the majority of other state humanities councils accept and manage grants. We expect that it will improve the application experience for our grantees, our Board Member reviewers, and staff, enhancing communication, collaboration, clarity, and grant compliance.”
T.J. Wallace, who manages SC Humanities’ Grants program, said that the new Online Grants Portal will not change how accessible staff will be to applicants. “SC Humanities will maintain the personal touch on which we have always prided ourselves. I will be available to consult with potential applicants, to read drafts via the portal and offer feedback, and to help troubleshoot technical issues.”
