SC Humanities is happy to announce that 6 small communities in South Carolina will have the opportunity to host the traveling Smithsonian exhibit The Way We Worked in 2017. The Way We Worked, adapted from an original exhibition developed by the National Archives, explores how work became such a central element in American culture by tracing the many changes that affected the workforce and work environments over the past 150 years.
SC Humanities offered an application opportunity to small museums, arts centers, libraries, and other community venues in South Carolina cities with fewer than 20,000 residents to host this interesting exhibit. Six communities were selected from among the many applicants, and the successful host sites are listed below. A detailed schedule will be available soon.

These host sites will have more than a year to plan for the exhibit’s arrival in their community and to coordinate collateral programming like local exhibits, events, and more.
