Assistant Director
T.J. Wallace is the Assistant Director of South Carolina Humanities. For SC Humanities, she works on coordinating a variety of grant opportunities and programs, including the Speakers Bureau and a partnership with the Smithsonian called Museum on Main Street. A graduate of Furman University, T.J. completed a year of service with the AmeriCorps program City Year Columbia in 2005. She graduated from Francis Marion University’s Nonprofit Leadership Institute in 2009, the United Way of the Midlands’ Blueprint for Leadership in 2019, and Leadership Columbia in 2021. T.J. has volunteered extensively with the Midlands Reading Consortium; Pawmetto Lifeline; Lake Carolina Elementary School, where she serves on the School Improvement Council; and Girl Scout Troop 1098. T.J. grew up in Orlando, FL and now lives in Columbia with her husband Joey, their three children, a golden retriever, three cats, and a leopard gecko. She never says no to a nap.
