Presented by Ken Scarlett, “South Carolina: The Epicenter of the World War that won American Independence” will be Tuesday, October 21 at 7 p.m. at the Lancaster County Historical Courthouse at 104 North Main Street, Lancaster. A national-award-winning author, Scarlett’s book will be available for purchase at the event.
South Carolina had more military actions than any other colony in the Revolutionary War, and several were in Lancaster County. The American Revolution became a world war, as England’s traditional enemies provided arms, money and troops to the Patriot cause.
The program is a part of the Lancaster County 250th American Revolution Anniversary Committee’s “Engagement Series,” a series of talks and presentations paid for by a grant from the South Carolina 250 Commission, which is dedicated to commemorating the 250th anniversaries of Revolutionary War events in South Carolina The Lancaster 250 Committee is devoted to the same goal, highlighting people, places and events in Lancaster County.
