South Carolina ETV will air the original documentary Forgotten Founder on September 23, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. as part of the "Carolina Stories" series. Forgotten Founder investigates the life of South Carolina statesman Charles Pinckney. The documentary was supported by SC Humanities through a February 2010 Major Grant.
Charles Pinckney was Governor of South Carolina, a South Carolina state representative, a United States Congressman, and a delegate to the 1787 Constitutional Convention, where he played an important role in the shaping of the United States Constitution. Despite his impact in early US politics, Pinckney is now little known by South Carolinians, and Forgotten Founder will revive knowledge of his life and career in our state and beyond.
In addition to being aired on statewide SCETV, Forgotten Founder will also be publicly screened at the Charles Pinckney National Historic Site in Mt. Pleasant, SC on September 17, 2010 at 8:00 p.m., and an abbreviated version of the documentary will become a permanent part of the program at the historic site.
