Sites Chosen for Key Ingredients

The Key Ingredients: America by Food traveling Smithsonian exhibit explores how the food we eat connects us to our communities, heritage, and national culture.

Key Ingredients is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration among state humanities councils, The Federation of State Humanities Councils and the Smithsonian Institution’s Traveling Exhibition Services.  The exhibit is intended for small museums, libraries, historical societies, cultural centers, and other community venues in rural America in order to highlight connections to the foods we produce, prepare, preserve, and present.
